Nora’s practice focuses on estate planning and business law and she also practices tax law in the areas of gift and estate taxation.
Nora drafts many types of trusts for clients including: life insurance trusts, special needs trusts for disabled persons, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable lead trusts, and charitable remainder trusts.
Nora provides services for businesses including: choosing the proper corporate entity; formation of the corporate entity; drafting partnership agreements, operating agreements, and corporate shareholder agreements and bylaws; buying and selling business; purchasing and leasing assets and real property in conjunction businesses; negotiating, drafting, and executing business contracts; and planning as it relates to tax issues.
Nora provides asset protection services including: drafting asset protection trusts, spendthrift trusts, prenuptial trust, organizing limited liability entities, and drafting prenuptial agreements.
Nora provides estate administration services including: preparation of gift and estate tax returns, preparation of fiduciary income tax returns, and general estate administration.
In the Profession
In addition to being a member of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA), Nora currently serves on the following CBA committees: Probate Practice, Trust Law Practice, and Real Estate. Nora is also involved with the Young Lawyers Section of the CBA, is a member of the CBA’s Asset Protection Committee, and serves on the Estate Planning Committee and Women in the Law Committee.
Nora has also been appointed to serve on the Illinois State Bar Association’s Trusts & Estates Council and is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.

What charitable cause do you feel passionate about?
I am the most passionate about PAWS, a local animal rescue in Chicago. They are a no-kill shelter that does great work in rescuing animals and finding homes for them. They also do a lot of work to educate the community on how to care for animals.
What is the best book you have read recently?
“In the Land of Invisible Women,” by Qanta A. Ahmed, MD, where she recounts her experience as a Pakistani-American doctor practicing medicine in Saudi Arabia. Also, “Counting by 7’s,” by Holly Goldberg Sloan, which is told from the viewpoint of a child genius, coping with the loss of her parents.
Action, Drama, Comedy, Foreign Film?
Comedy – I think it’s important to take the time to relax, laugh and let the stressors of life fade away for a bit!
