Steve’s practice includes commercial and business litigation, construction law, mechanic’s liens and bond claims. He provides efficient and effective representation, taking business, personal, and practical considerations into account when advising clients. Steve has experience representing clients in trial and appellate courts at both the state and federal level, and in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration.
Steve also works with clients to prevent disputes through contract drafting and document review, and provides valuable general counsel advisory services to his industry clients.
In the Profession
Steve was appointed to, and is currently serving on, the Illinois State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section Council. He is a Past Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Real Property-Construction Law and Mechanic’s Liens Subcommittee. Steve contributes to various bar associations and industry organizations by writing and presenting on topics and developments in construction law.
While in law school, Steve was a member of the Dean’s List and received the Dean’s Distinguished Public Service Award. He served as a judicial extern to Judge James D. Egan in the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Law Division. Steve was a contributing editor to Chicago-Kent’s Seventh Circuit Review and studied international business law in Pamplona, Spain at the Universidad de Navarra
In the Community
Steve believes in service to the community and has volunteered with the charity Feed My Starving Children and has participated in the Chicago Bar Association’s Lawyer Mentor Program for students at Richards Career Academy.

What charitable cause do you feel passionate about?
I support Special Olympics. My brother has been an athlete participant for years. Growing up with him really shed light on the importance of respect for others, regardless of so-called “abilities.” I volunteered for the Special Olympics in the past and hope to do so again in the future.
What is the best concert you’ve attended?
The best was Crosby Stills and Nash. They jammed and I was with people I loved.

Comedy, dry and, preferably, British.
