Perhaps this very logical rule is why too many gamblers (in this case creditors) wound up in 2 different bankruptcy courts, fighting over which court had jurisdiction over Caesars Entertainment Corp. casinos’ bankruptcy proceedings?
In cadence, frustrated casino creditors had filed an involuntary bankruptcy in Delaware. Yet, most of the casino-hotels owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp. are in the Midwest, so Caesars filed its voluntary bankruptcy in Chicago. This brings up a whole new issue of jurisdiction: Why did the courts decide on Chicago?
